We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with a strong background in back of house utilities, mechanical systems, and electrical installations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects that involve complex infrastructure and utility systems across our global ports and destinations developments. Your expertise in these areas will be essential for ensuring the successful delivery of projects within schedule, budget, and quality parameters.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget, for construction projects focusing on back of house utilities, mechanical systems, and electrical installations
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, and deliverables
- KPI’s/Monitoring & Controls – monitor & track performance for projects and projects portfolio
- Set KPIs for individual projects, and support the development of project monitoring standards across GPDD
- Budgeting, Cost Control, and Project Delivery:
- Develop and monitor project budgets, tracking expenditures and managing costs related to back of house utilities, mechanical systems, and electrical installations
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage change orders effectively
- Develop project plans including timelines, sequencing, risks
- Manage day-to-day project management activities with on-site and off-site teams
- Back of House Utilities Management:
- Oversee the planning, design, and installation of back of house utility systems, such as plumbing, drainage, wastewater treatment, fire protection, and HVAC
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry best practices
- Mechanical Systems Coordination:
- Coordinate the procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R)
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure optimal system performance and energy efficiency
- Electrical Systems Management:
- Manage the implementation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and low voltage systems
- Work closely with electrical engineers and contractors to ensure safe and reliable electrical infrastructure
- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess project risks associated with utilities, mechanical systems, and electrical installations
- Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize potential disruptions or delays
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Foster effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and regulatory authorities
- Provide regular progress updates, address concerns, and ensure alignment with project goals
- Quality Assurance:
- Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards
- Conduct inspections, review workmanship, and address any deficiencies promptly
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Champion a culture of safety and ensure adherence to all applicable health and safety regulations and guidelines
- Implement safety protocols, conduct site inspections, and promote a safe working environment for all project personnel
- May need to stand for long periods of time
- 25-50% non-shipboard travel likely
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A master’s degree is a plus
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
- 5-8 years’ experience
- Proven track record of at least 5 years in construction project management, with experience in overseeing complex projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices
- Construction, Property Development or Property Management experience
- Professional certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP), are desirable but not mandatory
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, specifically managing projects involving back of house utilities, mechanical systems, and electrical installations
- Excellent project planning, execution, and monitoring abilities
- Proficiency in using project management software and tools to manage project schedules, budgets, and resources
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, codes, regulations, and industry standards related to utilities, mechanical systems, and electrical installations
- Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and software for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting
- Possess strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, MS Project or Primavera P6, Excel, PowerPoint, File Maker and Outlook
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on issues in a timely manner
- Possess knowledge of office related-management principles procedures and techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly in order to meet deadlines
- Ability to schedule meetings, document and manage them through completion
- Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with supervisors and staff
- Ability to follow–up on decisions and directives from the Sr. Director of PMO
- Ability to supervise and/or maintain essential records and files
- Ability to write business letters & proofread drafts
- Must be highly organized and detailed oriented
Salary: $83,182 – $135,000/year
